Drone Brothers Earns Top-Tier Vendor Status with Compass DCG.

The Achievement

In September, Drone Brothers successfully completed Compass DCG (Diligent Compliance Group) pre-qualification. This isn’t a small feat: Compass DCG’s vetting process is notoriously rigorous, involving detailed reviews of insurance, safety protocols, certifications, and operational compliance. Many drone service providers never complete it, which is exactly what makes this rating a meaningful competitive edge rather than just a compliance checkbox.

Why It Matters

General contractors (GCs) increasingly require vendors to be pre-qualified through platforms like Compass DCG before they’ll even consider bringing them onto a project. Normally, that means every new drone service provider has to go through a separate onboarding and vetting process with each individual GC. This is a slow, repetitive process that can stall deals for weeks.

By achieving this pre-qualification once, the company now has a “passport” that works across the entire Compass network. Concretely, this unlocks:

  • Direct access to major GCs already in the Compass network, including large players like BCCG and Breakman, without a separate onboarding cycle for each one
  • A faster sales cycle, since procurement teams can move straight to project discussions instead of vendor vetting
  • A credibility signal that few competitors can match, since the rigor of the process filters out most other drone companies before they even finish it

In a market where speed-to-project often decides who wins the work, removing the onboarding bottleneck is a real structural advantage. Not just a nice badge to put on a website.

How the Team Is Leveraging It

Rather than treating this as a passive credential, the team built an active outreach strategy around it:

  1. Identify target GCs already in the Compass network. Companies the team wants to work with that are part of the Compass DCG ecosystem, such as MacGowan Gordon.
  2. Use LinkCloud to find the right contacts at those GCs. The people who can actually initiate a vendor connection request on their end.
  3. Prompt those contacts to send the connection request. Compass DCG requires the GC to initiate the request, not the vendor.
