W.L. Butler Brings Costco to Camarillo, CA 93010.

Drone Brothers, on behalf of W.L. Butler and in support of their Costco Camarillo, California Project, captured images for visual data. Camarillo is excited to announce that Costco is developing a 160,000 square foot Costco with a free-standing gas station, situated on a now vacant lot at the west end of the Camarillo Town Center, south side of the 101 Freeway, and west of Home Depot near Springville Drive.

“The economic development potential Costco brings to Camarillo is phenomenal,” stated City Manager Greg Ramirez, “and we are proud of the work and excellent customer service our staff provides to the business and development community that make deals like this possible.”

Costco representatives spent a considerable amount of time conducting detailed demographic studies and concluded that Camarillo, strategically, is a place they need to be in order to serve the large membership pool in this city.

Neighboring cities of Oxnard, Simi Valley, and Westlake have Costco stores. Through a leakage analysis, which calculates the loss of potential revenue caused by residents leaving Camarillo to make purchases, it was found that Costco is an ideal business for Camarillo. In the last 12 months, an estimated 36.65k Camarillo residents visited the Oxnard store with 386.74k total visits, 12.71k residents visited the Westlake store with 89.5k total visits, and 6.26k residents visited the Simi store with 32.8k visits. Additionally, Simi Valley’s Costco Gas is the most popular gas station out of town and attracted 3.43k residents with a total of 13.06k visits.

“Recapturing this leakage out of the community will bolster the City’s already strong sales tax revenues, and this development is estimated to quickly become one of the top ten sales tax generators for the City,” shared City Manager Greg Ramirez.
