The mission of the Ogden Transfer Station is to provide the most efficient, safe, and useful transfer station in Utah. Our background as waste haulers means that we approach all transfer station functionality from the perspective of a driver. We intend to make your dump activity as smooth as stress-free as possible. With state-of-the-art facilities to be built at the Ogden Transfer Station alongside dependable service, the OTS will become your hub for waste transfer and recycling.
As a pivotal branch of Robinson Waste Services, the Ogden Transfer Station stands at the forefront of sustainable waste management in our community. At the heart of its operations lies a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), where recyclable materials undergo a transformative journey. But what exactly is a MRF? A Materials Recovery Facility is a specialized plant where recyclables such as plastics, aluminum, paper, and cardboard are sorted, processed, and prepared for recycling. At the Ogden Transfer Station MRF, this process begins with meticulous sorting. Here, cardboard is separated from other recyclable materials and compacted into bales onsite. The remainder of the recyclables undergo a similar treatment and are compacted into bales and then transported to another facility for further sorting. This ensures that each material stream remains pure and ready for reprocessing into new products.
Once sorted and baled, these materials embark on their next chapter. Plastics are often melted down and reshaped into new containers or packaging. Metals are smelted and transformed into new products, while paper is pulped and recycled into fresh paper products.
Through the operations of the Ogden Transfer Station, Robinson Waste Services not only facilitates efficient waste management but also contributes significantly to environmental conservation. By diverting recyclables from landfills, the station plays a crucial role in preserving natural resources and reducing our environmental footprint.
