Project Spotlight

Westin Book Cadillac

1114 Washington Blvd, Detroit, MI 48226, USA

Originally opened in 1924 in the neo‑Renaissance style by architect Louis Kamper, at 33 stories and 349 ft tall, it was the world’s tallest hotel at the time. Vacated in 1984, the building endured decades of neglect before a $190–200 million renovation led by Ferchill Group from 2006–2008, transforming it into a mixed-use complex with 455 hotel rooms, 65 condos, expanded ballrooms, pool, spa, and parking garage.

LaMarca Construction spearheaded a full-scale interior renovation completed in late 2022/early 2023, including redesigned guestrooms and 36,000 sq ft of revamped meeting and banquet spaces, refreshing all public areas. The upgrade was synchronized with the hotel’s 100th-anniversary celebrations, reinforcing its status as a modern luxury destination.
