The Questions That Matter in Construction Technology.

Put a drone professional in a room full of professional estimators, and there are going to be some thoughtful questions.

A few weeks ago, Andrew Wolfe had the opportunity to speak at the ASPE Estimators Summit in Orlando about how drone technology and reality capture are changing the way construction teams approach preconstruction.

The session focused on how aerial data can give estimators and project teams a clearer understanding of existing site conditions, project scope, logistics, and the work that needs to happen before construction begins. It was an opportunity to discuss how visual information can support better planning and more informed decisions.

The presentation was only one part of the experience. Some of the most valuable conversations happened away from the stage, through discussions with estimators, contractors, engineers, and other construction professionals who are working through many of the same challenges across the industry’s.

Meeting new people, talking through real project conditions, and learning how other teams are approaching construction today is one of the best parts of attending an industry event. These conversations help technology providers understand what project teams actually need—not just what looks impressive in a demonstration.

A big thank you to the American Society of Professional Estimators for the invitation and for creating an event that brings together estimating and preconstruction professionals from across the industry.

The ASPE Summit conversation covered a wide range of topics, and Drone Brothers will be sharing more insights from the session in the coming weeks. It also looks like Andrew will be joining ASPE on stage again in February.

Round two is already in the works. To learn more about how Drone Brothers supports preconstruction and construction teams, or to discuss reality capture for an upcoming project, contact our team.
